A  NEW BOOK FOR MUSIC LOVERS
         THE  ARRAU HERITAGE

'A LIFE IN  MUSIC, RUTH NYE  AND THE ARRAU HERITAGE' by Roma  Randles

Roma Randles gives an insightful account of the lives of both Australian concert pianist and eminent music educator, RUTH NYE, MBE, FRCM and the important heritage of the great Chilean maestro,
CLAUDIO  ARRAU. She discusses how their musical worlds overlapped professionally and personally for some thirty years. Several distinguished international musicians have also contributed to this work. Ruth Nye herself shares some information regarding her approach to the art of teaching professional pianists, and several highly acclaimed international
artists have contributed to this work. The book also features many excellent historic photos.

The UNBROKEN musical heritage going right back from Ruth Nye, through Claudio Arrau, Franz Liszt, Martin Krause, Czerny and Beethoven to 18th c Joseph Haydn ... is indeed a unique and incredibly important heritage.  Lingua Musica's 2013 tour, "IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF CLAUDO ARRAU" will be strongly associated with this book.

" A LIFE IN MUSIC: RUTH NYE AND THE ARRAU HERITAGE" was published by Grosvenor House Publishing, UK, and launched at the Yehudi Menuhin  School and the Royal College of Music in London in December
2012.

CLAUDIO ARRAU

Claudio Arrau

Claudio Arrau (1903 – 1991)
was one of the greatest pianists of the twentieth century ... an aristocrat of the piano, who astounded all who
heard him and whose production of special tone qualities was recognised and revered by all knowledgeable musicians. A great intellectual, who spoke five languages, who read voraciously and whose quest for knowledge remained all his life, he was as well, the most approachable and kindest of men and generous in his aim to help those young musicians who followed him.

In association with her book, “A Life in Music: Ruth Nye and the Arrau Heritage”, coming out in London in December 2012, Roma Randles, Musician and Director of LINGUA MUSICA, has designed a never-to-be-repeated tour following in the footsteps of the late great maestro, CLAUDIO ARRAU. With references to his German training, but focusing on Chilean Arrau’s South American background as well as his New York residency and the colossal intensity of his years of international performing, Roma Randles offers a tour of enormous diversity of both artistic, historical and visual experience.
